As a 30-year-old woman, I was diagnosed with shingles, which is not common for my age group. I was expecting shingles to be a rash with some itching similar to chickenpox. While the rash was mild, the symptoms along with shingles were much more painful than I anticipated.

The rash presented as scattered blisters across my back and stomach. The most debilitating part was the nerve pain centered on my spine. This pain was so intense that I was in tears daily and wasn't able to live my normal day to day life. Having two young children I was unable to lift them or tend to them, needing help from family and friends to get me through the day. I not only struggled with the nerve pain but also had light sensitivity, headaches, and exhaustion.

The experience highlighted for me how severe shingles can be, and the importance of seeking medical attention as quickly as possible to catch this sooner than later. After receiving a shingles diagnosis from my doctor, I tried acupuncture, receiving daily sessions. Corinne incorporated acupuncture techniques and ATP resonance biotherapy. She also recommended herbal supplements as part of the treatment plan. From my personal perspective, I noticed improvements almost immediately in my condition.

Had I not gone for my acupuncture therapies I believe my symptoms would have lasted far longer than two weeks. Typically shingles can last anywhere from three to five weeks, with nerve pain that can last much longer. I’m extremely grateful to Corinne and the staff at ACGR for helping me through shingles!
